“I Ride Park City” All Stars Dominate Men’s Slopestyle at U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix in Park City, Utah

* All Star Alex Schlopy wins Men’s Slopestyle Finals, earns points toward Olympic Team Bid
* U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix continues at Park City Mountain Resort, culminating with the official naming ceremony for first ever U.S. Olympic Freeskiing Team Saturday night
Park City Mountain Resort’s pro ski athletes dominated the Men’s Slopestyle finals on their home soil at today’s Visa U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix presented by The North Face – with three Park City All Stars finishing in the top five. PCMR athlete, and Park City native, Alex Schlopy finished atop the podium with a 92.20 score on his first run, punctuated by a phenomenal double 1620 off one of the course’s three jumps.
With his first place finish, Schlopy earns critical points toward qualifying for the first ever U.S. Olympic Freeskiing Team.
Fellow PC All Stars Joss Christensen finished fourth and McRae Williams fifth, with Bobby Brown and Gus Kenworthy finishing second and third, respectively. Bobby Brown clinched the second men’s slopestyle spot on the U.S. Freeskiing Team with his podium finish.
The final Slopestyle positions on the U.S. Olympic Freeskiing Team will be determined Saturday when Park City Mountain Resort hosts the Grand Prix’s fifth and final competition of the season. Halfpipe Olympic qualification points will also be awarded Friday and Saturday nights when PCMR’s Eagle Superpipe hosts the final Grand Prix Halfpipe events of the season.
Park City Mountain Resort then hosts the official naming ceremony for the first ever U.S. Olympic Freeskiing Team Saturday night. All events are free, open to the public and accessible by foot.

In the days leading up to their walk down the ESPYS Red Carpet, olympic gold medalists Sage Kotsenburg and Joss Christensen jetted around the country with the Woodward Team. The private jet stopped at Woodward Copper so the pros could shred the summer snow terrain park, then off to Woodward Tahoe to skateboard, bounce on tramps and high-five some campers along the way. The adventure ended in Los Angeles at the ESPYS where both athletes were nominated for Best Male U.S. Olympic Athlete. Camp Woodward will welcome the first-ever Olympic gold medalists in men's slopestyle to the Woodward Copper camp in Colorado on July 14th and Woodward Tahoe on July 15th. The two Olympic slopestyle gold medal winners will lend their expertise this summer to campers this summer at Camp Woodward. Campers will get the opportunity to hang out, train and grab photos with both Joss and Sage. There is still time to sign up for the summer camps. If you can't make these dates and there are always pros dropping in.
