If They Want to Get to Sochi, They Gotta Earn it Here. Grand Prix Returns January 17 & 18.
The final Visa U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix presented by The North Face stop before the Olympics will take place right here at Park City Mountain Resort January 15-18, 2014. As the last stop of the Grand Prix, Park City is honored to be the site of the naming of the official 2014 U.S. Olympic Freeskiing team. This last stop of the Grand Prix actually combines two full events in one weekend. Men's and women's slopestyle finals will take place Friday afternoon, followed by men's and women's halfpipe finals in the evening. The final stop of the tour will then take place on Saturday, following the exact schedule as the day before. That's right, you get to see two Grand Prix stops back-to-back!
This week we've already seen Simon Dumont, David Wise and Angeli VanLaanen training in the pipe and Park City All-Stars Tom Wallisch, Joss Christensen and Alex Schlopy making hot-laps in the park. Be sure to make it over to both the King's Crown park and the Superpipe on the 17th and 18th to find out which of your favorite skiers will be heading to Sochi in February. The finals and award ceremonies will also be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network.

We had an incredible time with Lib Tech and all those that participated in The Holy Bowly this year. It was amazing to be part of and everyone involved absolutely loved it. It was a celebration of snowboard culture and lifestyle that we were happy to be a part of and we will never forget.

Saturday evening was a perfect night to grab a chair under the stars on Town Lift Plaza and catch the world premiere of our original snowboard film, "IRPC" - and it turns out a whole lot of you agreed. Chairs went early and our crowd spilled into standing-room-only sections around the plaza deck before overflowing back onto Town Bridge over Park Ave. What a crowd! The film, shot entirely in the terrain parks at Park City Mountain Resort, proves anything is possible when it comes to the creative riding going on here. Did you miss the film's debut, or just can't wait to see it again? "IRPC" will be released in sneak peek edits, once a week through October, right here at the blog before posting in its full length November 1. Check it out!
